Explain these races
Explain these races Kierin- The keirin is a motorpaced event that is very popular in Japan where it originated. In that country, huge amounts of money are bet on races and professional keirin riders command impressive salaries. It is similar to the match sprint, but features 6-8 riders on the track. A derny motorbike paces the riders from 25 km/h up to 45 km/h for the first few laps. During this time, riders jostle each other for the best position and this is often the roughest part of the event. With two and a half laps to go, the derny bike pulls off and the sprint is on. Team tactics are important here, as the leadout is often quite long. If one team can get two of their riders in the final, then they are at a distinct advantage. reference www.cyclingnews.com

Scratch Race - Seriously if I have to explain how this race works, it is a concern. However the round 4 scratch race is usually an endurance event. Laps will be determined before the start. Race for that many laps and sprint for the finish. Simple. The Bombtrack Wheel-Race Brought to you by Pushie • This is a four race series.
• Rounds 1-3 are three invitational wheel-Races
• The three winners only are invited to ride the 1km Bomtrack Final
• Winner of the final wins a Bombtrack Script
Who’s invited to Round 2 of the Bombtrack 1.5 wheel-Race • Again the invitation criteria is aimed at the courageous riders of RAW
• This week I will be inviting riders who have who finished 4th (last) in week 5’s 4up sprint.
• For whatever reason they finished 4th it seems most are challenging themselves in a tough grade
• There are no reserves for this week’s event, so who ever turns up from this list stands a chance.
