Who is hot and who is not (for TWE Point Series)

For week 13  Final

    V's

Div 1:
Who will win?
Hot: Tirian or Josh….. it will come down to the final race of the season!
Not: Brad Heap … has done enough for third

Not only is the battle for the series win going to be intriguing. But the battle for 4th to 6th is on fire.  Robby Cater has a buffer on Scott Mills and Alex Chubs who are locked on the same points.

Top 5 contenders
Joshua Cornish   197
Tirian McManus    195
Bradley Heap   162
Robert Cater   147
Scott Mills    140
Alex Chubb   140

Div 2:
Who will Win?
Hot: Gary Mandy … can not be beaten!
Not: Ben Lehner … has lost his chance of 4th place but will get 5th

Geoff Baxter v’s Nosh Mistry for 2nd place. Geoff has shown greater form over the last few weeks. Let’s race this one out.

Top 5 contenders
Gary Mandy   222
Geoff Baxter   201
Nosh Mistry   199
Brendan Barrett   188
Ben Lehner   171

Div 3:
Who will win
Hot: Lizanne Willmot …. Should wrap it up.
Not: Troy Fisher ……. Will be absent this week and may slip to 3rd
Broughton has a good chance of moving intro second  Noel has a shot as well. Whilst O’brien will be trying to make up for last week’s error. Speaking of Shane, there is a ridiculously serious fight for the final 5th position. 3 Riders are locked on the same points going into the final round

Top 5 contenders
Lizanne Wilmot    183
Troy Fisher    183
Broughton Caley   172
Noel Gorrell    161
Shane O'Brien   159
Bradley Peyser   159
Steffi Taylor    159
Nigel Apps    153

Div 4:
Who will win
Hot: Ian Grant ….too good for Div 4
Not: Brad Mills has slipped from third.
1 point seperates John, Charles and Brad. Whilst I believe the top 5 has been identified the order for 3rd to 5th is anything but decided.

Top 5 contenders
Ian Grant   209
Luke Britten   191
John Caley   164
Charles Dale   164
Brad Mills   163

Div 5
Who will win
Hot: I don’t know?
Not: Ruby slipped out of top 5 contention
This all about Maximillian Santos and Johnathon Huggett. Anyone’s guess

 Top 5 contenders

Maximillian Santos    177
Jonathan Huggett   176
Brent Sims   156
Rohan Haydon-Smith   154
Katarina Chung-Orr   152
Ruby Reidy-Miller   140

The Hillbrick Club Challenge :
Hot: DHBC and LACC
Not: All other clubs
It is guaranteed that DHBC and LACC will fight it out in the last race of the series in a 10 person Italian Pursuit.

News and Information
 2014
For Week 13
12  Sept  - 2014
FINAL NIGHT 2014

Week 13 Final Final  Bring it!

This week’s Races
•   Round 1   warm up Scratch
•   Round 2   no race (save time)
Round 3  Kierin    (including Kierin Kup Final)
•   Round 4  Point a Lap

•   Round 5  Handicap Combines + Hillbrick Club Challenge Italian Pursuit
•   Round 6 Race video replays, Pizza and Beer at the Kiosk + Presentation and Music Video

In Most divisions (exc Div1) the top 6 or 7 will face off in the Kierin. The top 7 heat will be the last heat of each division.

Explain these races
Kierin- The keirin is a motorpaced event that is very popular in Japan where it originated. In that country, huge amounts of money are bet on races and professional keirin riders command impressive salaries. It is similar to the match sprint, but features 6-8 riders on the track. A derny motorbike paces the riders from 25 km/h up to 45 km/h for the first few laps. During this time, riders jostle each other for the best position and this is often the roughest part of the event. With two and a half laps to go, the derny bike pulls off and the sprint is on. Team tactics are important here, as the leadout is often quite long. If one team can get two of their riders in the final, then they are at a distinct advantage. reference www.cyclingnews.com
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CxkGOgoAOM&feature=channel

Point'a'Lap- The race is run similar to a point score-however each lap is a sprint for first place only and worth one point. The overall winner is the rider with the most points.

In most grades riders will have 5 laps of non-point scoring followed by 10 laps of point'a'lap
.

Do both clubs accept the start sheets?

LACC will need a 70m lead going into the final 4 laps or they are toast.

It's either that team or we'll have to forfeit.
