Week 2 Bring it!
Week 2 Feature Race The RAW Track 1.5km Wheel-race
• This week’s feature race will be the RAW Track 1.5km wheel-race
• Riders finishing in the top 3 of the warm up scratch race from Div 1-4 will qualify for a 12 up wheel-race.
• If Divisions are split into two, first and second will qualify.
• Trinkets + Cash prize
This week’s Races• Round 1 Warm up Scratch
• Round 2 RAW Track Wheel-Race
• Round 3 1 Lap Screamers (drag race)
• Round 4 Snowball • Round 5 Combines + CNSW Time Blaster” (Time Blaster time is 8:48 sec for $100)
Explain these races 1 lap Drag race- Riders draw lots to start in position 1-4 up the track. The riders start in a Time trial hold (No-Push) for whistle start. First one back wins. Easy
Snowball- Sometimes called a progressive point-score. The race is run similar to a point score-however each lap is a sprint for first place only with the points earned corresponding to the laps completed i.e. the winner of the first sprint gets 1 point winner of the 10th sprint gets 10points. The overall winner is the rider with the most points. 1 lap screamer record • 19.27 seconds set by Alex Bird on 4th June 2008
1 lap screamer procedure • Groups of 4 will be selected as you come up ramp
• Riders will assemble at top of ramp before race
• Holders will select a rider which will allocate a starting position 1 bottom 4 top
• Riders are held for a time trial start on the pursuit line
• The starter will say ready, Whistle.
• Holders will release with no push!
• Holders required
• Please be prompt to your start.
Pay up front for the entire series (last week) • This year I am offering the opportunity to pay for the whole season for the cost of 10 weeks
• Taking up this offer for week two, will cost 9 weeks
• Should for any unforeseen circumstances occurring during the season that prevents you from attending we will sort out a reimbursement (pro-rata)
Young riders at RAW • The rule we have used and will continue to use is that 2nd year U13’s with approval of coach can ride RAW
• RAW will host Junior Development on weeks 3,6,9 and 11

Points for 2012 series • For every week you attend you receive 10 points
• In rounds 3,and 4 top 4 place getters receive 5,3,2 and 1point respectively
• From September 01 place getter points are doubled.
Sign on’s and Licences • If this is your first RAW Track for 2012 you will need to show you licence
• I record your licence as sighted and you are fine for the season.
• Sign on’s are in Point score order.
BSCC- RAW Track Canteen • I am delighted to announce that Bankstown Sports Cycling Club will be hosting a Canteen at Raw
• The Canteen will provide the basics and it is hoped that it will be well supported by our riders and spectators
• Profits raised will be going towards covering costs at their Wednesday night training session which are currently running at a loss.
• Not only will we be supporting the canteen but also promoting the Wednesday Training session in a hope to turn both initiatives into profits.
