www.Bicisport.com.au This week’s Races• Round 1 Warm up Scratch
• Round 2 No race
•
Round 3 group sprints + 200m fly Div1
• Round 4 Point’a’Lap Poker Race • Round 5 Combines + CNSW Time Blaster 8min 32sec
Explain these races Group 5 lap scratch/sprint Your Division will be split into two heats. So if there are 18 riders in div 2 there will be two heats each containing 9 riders. The race is run under standard scratch race rules. At only 1.25km in length this race is considered more like a sprint than a scratch race.
Poker Race- ran on the same rules as the Point'a'Lap race however, instead of earning points you earn cards. If you cross the line first on any lap you win that sprint and receive 1 card. If you win any additional sprint you receive an extra card. The winner of the race is the rider who has the highest card. Ace of hearts is the highest Two of Spades the lowest. Don't worry you don't have to carry the cards with you; we keep them on the desk. ‘
Luck plays a part but you can make your own luck in this race. As riders win a sprint I will be announcing their position on the poker ladder. 200m Fly procedure • A handler will be on the back straight waiting for you
• As the previous competitor goes past doing their final lap, you will be push started
• You will receive 2 laps to go as you past the start/finish.
• Upon completion of your Fly you will be allowed 1 warm down lap only vacating the track down the back ramp.
• The above procedure must be the same for all competitors
200m Fly, Record • The RAW/FNWTR record is held by Tim McMillan 10.99 Aug 2011
200m Fly, for non Div 1 riders • Every year, I get asked by a heap of riders if they can ride the 200m fly
• I must be mindful of the amount of riders that do participate, as this is a time consuming process.
• If you are not Div 1 and wish to participate, you must email me stating your reason for
consideration before 12noon Friday.
