I think there is a mistake on the 4th place in Div 4/5 combined. As much as I would love to say I came 4th.....I am pretty sure a there were a train of people that took over me around lap 7 (or some where near there).  I know it isn't worth any points, but no use claiming a place that wasn't mine. I am sure I finished where I usually do in this race....at the back of the pack.

I just Love Racing by Mark Craig

What a night at the track.
The season is coming to a close with just three weeks of racing to go. With double points on offer and some really impressive prizes on offer, including a TWE wheel set and Hillbrick carbon track frame, the racing is becoming really competitive.

First race in was a warm up scratch race. I took some advise from the local help and started early sitting in 4th wheel. Each of the leaders taking a lap and pulling up to let the next rider take the weight. My turn came and went and I then sat up on the top pace line and waited for an opening in the line below as it started to accelerate.
With three laps left and no opportunities opening I went to the front and picked up the pace. Three or four riders came with me, two laps to go I let the next rider through and dropped strait back onto his wheel, taking a short rest in the slip stream. One lap out, the pace line stretched, a gap opened and I went up over and around the lead wheel and accelerated away with one or two behind. Into the last corner I dropped onto the red pace line and made for the finish. The rider behind lifted and was on my right hip. I had saved a couple of percent and was able to answer the challenge to record a win for the opening event.

The next race was a 1 1/2 lap screamer. Five riders take off from a standing start with holders and then gun it for the line.
I got away well and fell into second position with the rest of the field well behind. By the second turn with one to follow and into the last turn I rode up the track to above the red sprint line and accelerated past first wheel to grab a second win for the night.

The third race was a novelty event, with a twist, known as Poker courtesy of Paul Craft, the RAW Event organiser, and gifted commentator. First across the line for each lap is allocated a playing card drawn for a pack on the track apron and announced to the passing riders. The first three laps saw number 66 take three cards including a jack of clubs and a queen of hearts. On lap four I took the lead and crossed the line to draw a 10 of clubs.......not good enough. With the rest of the field still in pursuit I again took another lap to take a 3 of spades or something similar. To win this race you don't only need to cross the line first you need a big card. For me this meant better than the queen of hearts. Subsequent laps saw me draw a number of other small cards resulting in me shaking my head at the end of each lap which Paul was happy to announce to whole audience and around the world on the webcast. By this time I had drawn well clear of the rest of field and had taken all but the three cards that number 66 had taken, with just two more cards on offer. Lap 14, the second last lap and number 11 out in the wind for me and finally I drew the ace of diamonds. The third win for the night.

By this time I was exhausted for the final Div4/5 Combine and 12 lap race with 24 riders in, I think. This went rather uneventfully for me, still managing to roll in, in about 6th or 7th position and very tired.

I understood that the WOMEN were supposed to be at the front at the start of scratch-type races (And there were more than three of us).

I have noted in the last few weeks some not so female looking riders starting close to the front.  Especially this older lady rider needs all the help I can get.  I am only being realistic, not defeatist to state that I would not be competing with you in any final sprints or mid-race challenges.  Almost any male in Division 5 would have no difficulty sprinting past me to get near the front during the race.
