Park Bikes, Sydney Christmas Carnivals 2019 Madison Series

Please find attached the Sydney Christmas Carnivals 2019 Madison Series handicap rankings. There will be two grades for the madison series this year. Division 1 will be for the more experienced and faster riders. The Division 1 races will be approximately 30 to 40 laps each night (race directors discretion). Division 2 will be for the not so fast/experienced riders and those that have a little experience in madison racing. The Division 2 races will be approximately 20 laps on nights 1, 3,4 and 5.





The handicap system works as follows:

Each rider is allocated a handicap number. This number may change from night to night pending on results on the previous night, temperature, track characteristics, track temperature, wind speed, wind direction, time of day and a host of other complicated algorithms.

To work out the points you add your own handicap number with your partners handicap number. This will be your Nightly Points that both riders of each madison team will receive. You are able to change madison partners from night to night.

Points are allocated to the top four places in every madison. 5 for first, 3 for second, 2 for third and one point for fourth. The places points are allocated to your Nightly Points.

Should your team loose a lap, you will loose 5 points from your Nightly Points tally.

Points will tally over the madison series.

Please note that the madison series is all about inclusion, gaining experience (particularly for Division 2 madison series) and good racing.

Day 1 results for the Sydney Christmas Carnivals 2019 Madison Series. A great first round of Madisons last night, congratulations to all that participated. If anyone is looking for a partner please come and find me at the track and I will do my best to partner as many riders as possible.

Please note that at tonights Carnival at Tempe Velodrome there will be only one Madison event for A grade level Madison riders. The B grade Madison series will resume at Hurstville Oval on Night 3 of the series.

Points series update for the Park Bikes, Sydney Christmas Carnivals 2019 Madison Series. The B grade points have been upgraded. The A grade points have remained unchanged due to the cancellation of plat for round 4 of the madison series due to a wet pitch.
